François-Guillaume Leblanc develops his fertile imagination through the exploration of vocals and movement, and the philosophy that the human body is the basis of human expression.
Inspired by a grotesque universe and the traits of characters from comic book worlds, François-Guillaume creates a world where possibilities are endless. Reality blends with fiction and every joke is underlined with wit.
Raised in Iles-de-la- Madeleine, François-Guillaume Leblanc started performing at an early age. At eighteen, he performed on the stage of the Ligue Madelinienne d’Improvisation where he distinguished himself within the improvisation community of Quebec. This experience propelled François-Guillaume into the world of theatre and the performing arts. In collaboration with Karine P. Bouliane, François-Guillaume produced his own comic works, one of which was the ‘ImaginUnivers François-Guillaume Leblanc’s solo show’. This performance piece went on to win him the national CEGEP en Spectacle that, in turn, gave him the opportunity to perform at the Grand Rire Bleu Festival and the Montreal Francofolies.
François-Guillaume produces shows featuring tales, amusing sketches and multiple characters. For these reasons, he, along with his colleague Karine P. Bouliane, is using the Theatre Biscornu to further explore clown art and street theatre.
Always in search of new challenges, François-Guillaume recently took first prize of comedy at the festival Le Tremplin in Degelis (Quebec). His performance style knows how to touch both adults and kids alike. His colorful characters and their comic situations give us subtle reflections on humanity.
